What is acne?

Acne vulgaris (common acne) is the most common form of skin disease, which initially manifests itself in the form of blackheads (comedones). Later, inflammations form on the skin, such as pustules, pimples and abscesses. Acne can occur in various forms at any age, but the skin disease most frequently appears during puberty due to the increased influence of androgens, especially on the face. It is often necessary to have acne treated by a dermatologist.

Especially a face covered with pimples and blackheads weighs heavily on many people. Attempts to remove these pimples and blackheads by squeezing them out themselves, however, usually damage the skin and can lead to injuries (lesions), infections and acne scars. Therefore, it is better to consult a dermatologist at the first sign of acne (oily blemished skin).

What are the treatment options for acne?

Depending on the form of acne, its cause and the current condition of the skin, the following methods are used in the treatment of acne. Ordination of Dr. Orasche in 1180 Vienna the most modern and effective treatment methods for you are discussed and a tailor-made therapy plan is drawn up together with you.

For mild forms, acne treatment can take the form of medicated creams and proper care. Most often, antiseptic (antimicrobial) solutions or ointments are prescribed. Another remedy for acne is vitamin A acid derivatives. Retinoids fight pimples and blackheads, but do not help against bacteria. More pronounced forms of acne therefore usually require oral therapy with antibiotics for a few weeks to eliminate bacterial infections.

The in the Fruit acid peeling The alpha-hydroxy acids (glycolic acid, AHA) and beta-hydroxy acids (e.g. salicylic acid, BHA) contained in the peel open the pores and dissolve keratinisation. A fruit acid peeling works excellently against inflamed blackheads and helps with acne.

With the low-pain fractionated Radiofrequency therapy can be used to treat the causes of acne as well as acne scars that have developed. The deep heat destroys the inflamed sebaceous glands and at the same time reduces the oil production of the healthy sebaceous glands. Two to three treatments at intervals of one month are recommended for the acne to subside.

Acne scars can also be smoothed with microneedling. Tiny needle points create micro-fine injuries in the skin. Anti-inflammatory preparations are introduced into the skin. During the subsequent wound healing phase, new collagen is formed and the complexion looks fresh and healthy again.

Laser - An innovative option for acne inversa, rosacea or acne during puberty.

The now possible with us Laser treatment with Asclepion's Mediostar destroys porphyrin-forming bacteria and fungi deep in the skin. The infrared laser radiation can penetrate deep enough into the skin to reach the sebaceous gland follicles and thus eliminate the causes of acne.

This method thus represents a novel and interesting alternative to the usual forms of therapy. It replaces the previous painful forms of treatment such as abcess splitting or scar excisions, where recurrences can always occur.

Also heavy Acne formation on the back and Acne inversaa skin disease characterised by extensive inflammation in the armpit and genital area, can be healed with the new laser method. The condition of the skin improves after a few treatments.
